DeMoura|Smith partner Ken DeMoura started his two-year term as Chair of
the Complex Commercial Litigation Institute at the organization’s
October conference in Miami Beach, Florida. DeMoura has served as a Director
and Treasurer of the 200-member Institute since 2012. The Institute also
selected Adam Arceneaux of the Indianapolis-based law firm, Ice Miller
LLP, to serve as Chair-Elect and to succeed DeMoura in 2019.
DeMoura will lead the CCLI’s winter conference in Las Vegas in February,
where for the first time in-house counsel will be invited to attend. In
addition, the Institute expects to hold its annual Litigation Webinar
for practitioners sometime in the Summer of 2018.
CCLI’s mission is to provide a forum for accomplished trial lawyers
to (i) share and develop best practices in litigating and trying complex
commercial cases; (ii) share specialized expertise; (iii) provide a nationwide
resource for local procedural and substantive knowledge; and (iv) engage
in the education of complex litigation practitioners through speaking
engagements and publications. Membership in CCLI is limited to Fellows
of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer
honorary society representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.
Ken DeMoura is a trial attorney based in Boston Massachusetts. He has a
significant and successful commercial litigation practice and is recognized
in Best Lawyers In America® as a top business litigation attorney.
